RIVERO TRAVEL is a travel agency and acts as a mediator between yourself and tour operators, airlines, car hire companies, accommodation establishments, consulates and travel insurance companies. Therefore, RIVERO TRAVEL cannot be held responsible for any delay’s, claims, passport/visa requirements, health vaccinations, incorrect information provided by clients regarding name spelling, dates and visa permits.
All quotations are subject to change without notice according to currency fluctuations, airfares increase and availability. *Standard terms and conditions will apply to all bookings.
Terms and Conditions
PRICES
All prices are subject to change due to availability, fare increases, currency fluctuations. Please verify costing when ready to do your final booking and payment. Prices are correct at time of quotation and may change without prior notice.
ACCOMMODATION
Even after reservations are confirmed, Hotels/apartments/resorts/lodges or any other type of accommodation reserve the right to substitute to other, similar or higher category at no additional cost. Some facilities and amenities may change or be closed due to operational reasons and / or seasonality without prior notice.
RESERVATIONS
Copies of passports must be provided prior to any booking or issuing of any travel documents. Please ensure that the names are given exactly as shown in the passport.
A non-refundable deposit of between 20% and 40% may be required within 72 hours of confirmation of the reservation. In addition, the total cost of air tickets, airport taxes and fuel levies, must be paid by the due date stipulated by the airline. The balance to be paid eight weeks prior to departure or, alternatively, as per the date stated on the confirmation.
We have the right to cancel your reservation if we do not receive your total payment by the relevant due date. If this happens, the cancellation clause below will apply and any deposit we have received will be applied against the new amount due. Reservations only become firm bookings when our office confirms that we have received your deposit.
To ensure a smooth handling of the passenger s reservation, a booking form which combines passenger s information with the signing of acceptance of our terms and conditions will be required.
METHOD OF PAYMENT
We accept payment for all arrangements either by electronic funds transfer (EFT) or credit card.
Credit card payments may incur a surcharge of between 2.5 and 3.5 %.
CANCELLATIONS, CURTAILMENT AND PENALTIES
At all times deposits are forfeited. Over and above the deposit, cancellations will apply as follows:
LAND ARRANGEMENTS:
In the event of the client cancelling a reservation for any reason, such cancellation must be made in writing.
Travel during peak periods
Cancellation received within 12 weeks of departure: 100% of tour price
Cancellation received more than 12 weeks before departure: 50% of tour price
Travel outside peak periods:
Cancellation received within 2 weeks of departure: 100% of tour price
Cancellation received 2-4 weeks before departure: 50% of total tour price
Cancellation received 4-8 weeks before departure: 25% of total tour price
In all circumstances you will be liable for the difference between the above amount and any deposits we have received.
AIR ARRANGEMENTS:
Cancellation fees apply to air tickets, and selected airport taxes and fuel surcharges once air tickets are issued. The cancellation fees vary from 25% to 100% dependent on the air ticket issued
Most discounted airfares may not be amended or refunded once ticket has been issued.
No refunds will be made for no-shows.
DELAYS AND ALTERATIONS
Rivero Travel cannot be held responsible for any delays prior to departure nor during travel to any hotel/resort confirmed, whether brought about by technical difficulties, strikes, political unrest, weather conditions, force majeure, airline schedule or time changes, re-scheduling or any other circumstances whatsoever, whether foreseen or unforeseen. We will, however, endeavour but will not be obliged to assist clients during these periods and it is understood that any expenses relating to these unscheduled extensions (e.g. hotels, meals, beverages, airfares, telephone calls, etc.) will be for the client’s account.
PASSPORTS, VISAS, VACCINATIONS, INOCULATIONS, RE-ENTRY PERMITS AND UNABRIDGED BIRTH CERTIFICATES
The responsibility to obtain correct, current and valid passports and passport requirements, visas, vaccinations, inoculations and re-entry permits where required, is that of the client alone. Clients travelling with children under 18 years old must be familiar with the SA Immigration Regulations that came into effect on 01 June 2015. The Company will not be held responsible or liable for any consequence of any nature arising from the client failing to ensure that he/she has complied with all such requirements.
INSURANCE
Travel insurance is essential. We strongly advise clients to at least take out travel insurance against cancellation, curtailment, illness, loss of baggage, personal accident, personal liability and default at the time of booking among other possibilities. Insurance policies must always cover full vacation periods. Rivero Travel can only act as a facilitator and may only provide you with information and may not advise you on whether the terms are specifically appropriate for your individual objectives, financial situation or needs.
RESPONSIBILITY
Rivero Travel acts as an agent only in producing and booking the travel arrangements required by you and on condition that we shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or any other irregularity that may be occasioned by any land or air service providers. All airlines own terms and conditions may be found on their websites. Clients are to ensure that the airline has had no schedule or time change prior to their departure.
